Silhouette Magic in the Summer Evenings

There’s something breathtaking about the way deep summer evenings wrap the world in golden warmth. As the sun dips low, the sky becomes a canvas of fiery oranges, dreamy pinks, and soft purples—perfect for creating unforgettable silhouette photos.

Silhouette sessions are some of my favorites because they allow so much play and personality to shine through. Kids running barefoot through the grass, families holding hands, couples stealing a kiss—all of it becomes bold, beautiful shapes against a glowing backdrop. Instead of focusing on tiny details, silhouettes capture the essence of the moment: joy, connection, love, and laughter.

Summer evenings give us the chance to lean into playful energy—jumping high into the air, spinning in circles, tossing little ones up with giggles, or simply standing together, soaking in the colors as they fade into twilight. These images feel vibrant, timeless, and full of life, all while being perfectly simple.

Silhouette photos aren’t just pictures—they’re artwork. They freeze a fleeting, magical sliver of time when the world slows down and the sky does all the heavy lifting. And in the middle of deep summer, when days stretch long and laughter lingers late, there’s truly no better way to celebrate love and life.

Each August we do these sessions but took a break this year. We have had many emails asking when they were going to be held, and we decided after 10 years to just do our own and save some new ideas for next year!
